Mid-Level Landscape Architect

PBR HAWAII & Associates, Inc. is an award-winning landscape architecture and planning firm based in Honolulu, Hawaii. We are seeking talented individuals with 3-7 years of landscape design experience in commercial and large-scale projects. Candidates must have a degree from an accredited program in landscape architecture or licensure.
When you join our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing diverse, fun, and exciting projects in Hawaii ranging from public parks and open spaces to commercial, hotel and resort developments, as well as educational, residential, and planned community developments
  • Working directly with clients, our Principals, and supervising staff
  • Preparing conceptual/schematic drawings, construction documents
  • Traveling to project sites and providing construction observation services on projects
  • Producing presentation graphics and presentations for clients, including 3D modeling and Photoshop renderings
  • Attending and participating in design meetings and client charettes
  • Mentoring and training staff
The ideal candidate has:
  • Passion for design with creative problem-solving skills
  • Open-minded with a positive attitude
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Enjoys working in a team environment
  • Experience in working on projects from conceptual design phase through construction documentation
  • Experience implementing Low Impact Design principles in creative ways
  • An understanding of mass grading as well as fine grading to develop concept designs as well as assess grading intent of other disciplines
  • An understanding of irrigation design and is able to develop irrigation system plans as well as provide water use calculations
  • An understanding of construction detailing and materials in order to accurately convey construction intent to support design drawings
  • Proficiency in:
    • AutoCAD 2014+
    • Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
    • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
    • 3D modeling (SketchUp or Rhino)
    • Google Earth Pro
  • Additional experience or credentials with the following is desirable:
    • Land F/X (proficiency required within 6 months of employment)
    • LEED AP credential
    • Hand illustration
    • Bluebeam Revu
