Eliza Talbot # @elegallyblond has joined the team as Vice President of Communications, Public Affairs & Strategy. We are lucky to have her!

Eliza’s experience includes working for state and local government work as well as advocacy and community engagement for notable companies in the private sector including Ko Olina Resort, The Resort Group and Hitachi Rail. She also served as Chief of Staff for the West O‘ahu City Council District.

Addressing the mental health needs of our communit

Addressing the mental health needs of our community and raising awareness around the existing resources to help our residents thrive is more critical now than ever. ⁠

Mental Health Awareness month runs May 1-31, and the Chamber will launch a month-long campaign to raise awareness and create meaningful dialogue about increasing mental health resources within our community. ⁠

In preparation, we invite our business community to take our 5-minute survey to better understand the specific mental health resources and needs. Results will be shared at an upcoming statewide webinar in May. ⁠

Last week, the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii worked in partnership with @hawaiikidscan and @hawaiip20 to host 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸-𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗪𝗕𝗟) 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘆 at the Hawaii State Capitol. The event was part of a larger Education Week initiative at the Capitol that was sponsored by legislators Senator Michelle Kidani @mnkidani and Representative Justin Woodson to highlight the importance of WBL and legislation to support more WBL opportunities for students. During the event, attendees heard a keynote from Pearl City High School about the importance of WBL to their school wide success, then heard from three panels. The panels were comprised of various stakeholders in WBL around the state including students, employers and work-based learning intermediaries. Thank you to all of our speakers during the event!
