POSITION SUMMARY

Must have general knowledge of all construction tasks for home building, from start to finish.  Must be able to finish large and small jobs including remodeling and renovation work. Supervise and mentor some staff members, providing guidance with all jobs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primary duties are cabinet installation, trim work, hanging doors, installing windows, installing appliances and hardware.  Various materials will be used when customization is required such as restoration work.
  • Read and follow blueprints and building plans to meet the needs of clients.
  • Install kitchen cabinets, siding, and drywall.
  • Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, drywall, and other materials.
  • Capable of framing structures with wood or metal
  • General knowledge of deck repair and construction
  • Instruct and direct laborers and other construction trade helpers.
  • Repair of dry rot and termite damage.
  • Available to Communicate with all staff members before and during work hours for scheduling, job site location, and directions, as well as what needs to be done on the job.
 
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Preferred minimum 8-10 years’ experience in carpentry, specifically finish.
  • Must have general knowledge of construction.
  • Excellent finish skills related to doors, cabinets, windows, and custom wood work.
  • Knowledge of high-end appliances and hardware.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment test, background check and drug test.
  • Proof to work in the US.
WORK SCHEDULE
  • Full time, which may include working evenings and weekends. Overtime is common in order to meet deadlines.
EQUIPMENT, MACHINES, VEHICLES USE
  • Able to use many different hand and power tools, to cut and shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall, including squares, levels, and chisels, as well as sanders, circular saws, nail guns.
  • Able to fasten materials together with nails, screws, staples, and adhesives, and do a final check of their work to ensure accuracy.
  • Reliable transportation to and from multiple job site and material houses. 
WORK ENVIRONMENT  
  • Work both indoors and outdoors.  Able to work in all types of weather conditions.
  • Work in cramped spaces, and may be subject to frequent lifting, standing, and kneeling.
COMPENSATION 

Excellent Pay and Benefits.  Depends on experience.
