Manager, Membership Services

The ideal candidate is responsible for on-boarding new members and the retention of existing members through management and implementation of the Chamber’s retention and member relations efforts. This is to be accomplished through a variety of avenues and requires a proactive approach to customer service.
 
Minimum Qualifications and Education Required:

  • Associates or 2-year college degree desired
  • Proficiency using PC computers, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to create a positive impression of the Chamber by phone, email and in person
  • Quick learner, detail oriented with good time management and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work effectively independently and in a team environment
Essential/Primary Job Duties:
  • Manage and implement all aspects of membership retention plan, including retention emails, phone calls and outreach.
  • Membership dues invoicing and payments.
  • Compile and distribute new member and renewing member informational packets.
  • Develop expertise in using membership database.
  • Pull membership reports from database and make database updates.
  • Coordinate other member mailings (email and postal mail).
  • Work with staff to promote member’s news and involvement.
  • Coordinate new member on-boarding process.
  • Sell advertising in Chamber weekly e-newsletter and on Chamber website.
  • Sell event and other sponsorships to members.
  • Represent Chamber at its events and other events for the purpose of engaging members.
  • Work independently and with other Chamber staff as a team player.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of all Chamber products, services and programs.
  • Be familiar with and abide by the Chamber’s policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Confident and enthusiastic.
  • Flexible work schedule, with some early morning, evening and weekend hours.
  • Experience in customer service, preferably in membership organization.
  • Excellent telephone skills with a thorough knowledge of telephone etiquette.
Environmental and Physical Requirements:
  • Flexible work schedule, with some early morning, evening and weekend hours.
  • May be required to stand for extended periods.
  • Vehicle and valid driver’s license.
  • Able to lift 35 pounds.

Annual starting base salary: Commensurate with experience
