Job Title:            Intern, Programs & Events

FLSA Status:       Part time; paid

 
Job Summary: 
Assists with the operation of the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii’s Events and Young Professionals Program.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment
 
Essential/Primary Job Duties:
  • Assist with Chamber events such as processing ticket sales, making name tags, event collateral, thank you letters, etc.
  • Process incoming YP membership applications and enter into the database.
  • Process monthly member renewals and follow-up on past due membership and event invoices.
  • Work alongside the YP membership committee to assist with member retention initiatives.
  • Assist in the execution of YP events including communicating with event venues, preparing event materials and onsite coordination.
  • Assist the Chamber of Commerce Communications Manager with the production of YP email blasts and website updates.
  • Source content for YP social media outlets.
  • Perform other functions and duties to support YP committees as needed and assigned by the Executive Director.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of all Chamber Young Professionals products, services and programs.
  • Be familiar with, and abide by, the Chamber’s policies and procedures.
     
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Enthusiastic.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to create a positive impression of the Chamber YP Program while responding to members either by telephone, email or in person
     
Other Requirements:
  • Flexible hours within the Chamber’s regular 8:00 am – 5:00 pm business day with requirements to attend most meetings and events. Some events take place outside regular business hours.
  • May be required to stand for extended periods.
  • Able to lift 25 pounds.
  • Vehicle and valid driver’s license.
     
 
Compensation: $15 per hour, 19 hours per week until March 7, 2025.
