Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Finance Director to oversee the financial operations of our organization, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and strategic planning. They will report to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure financial goals are in alignment with the organization's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement the organization’s financial strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
- Lead the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) process, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership for decision-making.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
- Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Present financial reports to senior leadership, stakeholders, and external parties as needed.
- Cash Flow & Risk Management:
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the organization has adequate liquidity for operations and growth.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, including managing debt, credit, and operational risks.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize working capital and operational efficiency.
- Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Lead the annual budgeting process and ensure effective cost control measures are in place.
- Analyze and manage operational costs, ensuring that resources are used effectively and efficiently.
- Review and approve major expenditures and financial transactions.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of finance staff.
- Set clear performance goals and manage the performance of the finance team.
- Compliance & Internal Controls:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards (e.g., GAAP or IFRS).
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard the organization’s assets.
- Coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate audits.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- Certifications: CPA, CFA, or similar financial certifications are preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and reporting.
- Strong background in risk management, cash flow management, and strategic financial planning.
- Experience with financial software (Quick Books) and ERP systems.
