Join us for an engaging, hands-on learning volunteer experience at the taro patch!
Educational volunteer experience at Hookuaaina including lessons about aina stewardship and the cultural significance of Kalo, followed by work in the loi (traditional taro patch) and lunch.
Hookuaaina is a community group using ancient Hawaiian traditions of kalo cultivation to engage and improve the lives of today’s youth. Hookuaaina hosts weekly community days. By participating, volunteers learn the traditional way of cultivating kalo and make meaningful connections to place and with one another while having fun in the mud.
Your registration fees are a donation to Hookuaaina and include the cost of the bento lunch.
