In the pre-COVID-19 environment, this event was in-person and included lunch. However, in the current environment with social distancing mandates, we will continue the tradition of meeting during the lunch hour. Paul Yokota
President, FCH Enterprises
Paul is the president of FCH Enterprises, Inc. overseeing operations for Zippy’s Restaurants, Napoleon’s Bakery, Food Solutions International and A Catered Experience. His responsibilities also include oversight of Marketing, Human Resources, Education and Development, Engineering and major projects.
He joined FCH in December 2008 as Chief Operating Officer and was promoted to President in November of 2009. His career also includes 30 years in the hospitality industry with Prince, Stouffer and Westin Hotels in locations on the mainland and throughout Hawaii.
Currently serves as a board member for the Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce, Hawaii Restaurant Association , Hawaii Restaurant Association Educational Foundation and the Hawaii Food Industry Association, University of Hawaii Alumni Association, and the Kaimuki High School Hospitality Academy Advisory Board.
Monty Pereira
General Manager and Sales and Marketing Director, Watanabe Floral
iography Born and raised in Hilo, Monty graduated with Honors in 1991 from the University of Hawaii-Manoa Business School with a degree in Accounting. After passing the CPA exam and working in Public accounting for two local CPA Firms, Monty left public Accounting for Watanabe Floral to be their Accountant. After a few years, Monty migrated away from Accounting instead becoming the Sales and Marketing Director and later adding the title of General Manager.
In 2009, Pacific Business News recognized Monty as one of Hawaii’s 40 Under 40. He is very proud of the team at Watanabe Floral, which has now been voted Hawaii’s Best Florist every year since 2003.
Away from Watanabe Floral, Monty is the President of Ka’oi Soccer Club, Chairman of the Leeward YMCA Board of Managers and President of the Alaka’i Networking Roundtable, a Business Networking group. Monty is married to Lori Pereira and has two daughters, Tiana (22) and Crystal (18)
Howard Lee
President and Chief Executive Officer, UHA Health Insurance
Howard Lee has led UHA Health Insurance as President and Chief Executive Officer since May 2011. Howard is a proven leader, overseeing UHA’s overall growth and profitability, while moving the company toward a wellness-driven culture. He has been a key driver in bringing workplace wellness solutions to market for Hawai'i employers.
In establishing UHA Work WellSM (formerly the UHA subsidiary Hawaii Health at Work Alliance), Howard set UHA’s course to become a proven leader in workplace wellness advocacy and expertise. UHA Work WellSM reaffirms UHA’s long-standing commitment to workforce wellness and serves as a catalyst to achieve UHA’s broader goal of improving the health and well-being of all Hawai'i residents.
Having served on numerous non-profit boards, Howard is still active in the community serving the Hawai'i Association of Health Plans (Director), the March of Dimes Hawai'i Chapter (Director), Mid-Pacific Institute (Trustee), Kapi'olani Health Foundation and the St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawai'i (Director) and a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors and American Health Insurance Plans (AHIP).
Howard joined UHA Health Insurance as Chief Financial Officer in 1997 and served in that role until 2005. He was promoted to Chief Operating Officer
in 2003 and then was named Executive Vice President in 2004. In addition, Howard has served on the UHA Board of Directors since 1999 and served as Treasurer from 2004 to 2011. Prior to joining the company, Howard served as Vice President and Controller with Magoon Estate, Limited and Guenoc Winery, in Hawai'i and California, from 1991 to 1997, and served as an Audit Manager with Coopers and Lybrand International, CPAs from 1984 to 1991.
