Guy Churchill

Chief Credit Officer
Guy Churchill joined Bank of Hawaii in 2017. He is the Chief Credit Officer with responsibility for the Wholesale Credit and Commercial Credit Groups, as well as the Enterprise Credit Risk Analytics team. Prior to this role, Mr. Churchill was the Co-Lead Executive of the Commercial Banking Group with responsibility for the commercial real estate and corporate banking businesses, as well as International and Guam commercial banking. In addition, he oversaw the Bank’s Sustainable Finance Group, which focused on renewable energy and affordable housing projects in Hawaii. Prior to joining Bank of Hawaii, Guy spent 15 years in various roles at Wells Fargo and Deloitte Financial Advisory Services.
Mr. Churchill earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Vanderbilt University, and a Master of Business Administration in finance from the University of Southern California. Mr. Churchill currently serves on the boards of Aloha United Way, Hawaii Nature Center, and Move Oahu Forward, as well as the Hawaii chapters of ULI and NAIOP.

Unyong Nakata is the Founder and Principal of Nakata Advisory, LLC, where services are focused on catalyzing business development and operational alignment. Unyong is driven by the core values of integrity, excellence, and compassion; her diverse experiences have cultivated a unique toolkit to complement her obsession to create brand equity, alignment, and organizational efficiency through the most important asset – people.
Unyong’s professional experience spans both the for-profit and non-profit areas. She has built and led teams in the areas Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Customer Service, and Supply Chain. Unyong was a key part of the executive leadership team that not only sustained but bolstered the company’s position despite tremendous and unpredictable challenges during the COVID pandemic all the while creating enterprise systems. Specifically in the non-profit space, Unyong expertise stems from creating high impact Advancement programs through alumni and volunteer management, private donations, integrated marketing and events, and strategic campaigns. The through line is Unyong’s ability to catalyze positive change and scalable excellence.
Unyong is proud to serve on the boards of the Salvation Army, Domestic Violence Action Center, Navian Hawaii, and the Patsy T. Mink Center for Business and Leadership.
Unyong has been recognized by Hawaii Business Magazine as one of the “20 for the next 20,” the Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii as the “Young Professional of the Year,” Pacific Business News for “Women Who Mean Business” and “Forty Under 40,” and by the AFP – Aloha Chapter as the “Outstanding Professional Fundraiser of the Year.”

Julie Nakayama is the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Kyo-ya Management Company. With a career spanning over three decades, Julie's journey began when she earned her CPA license in 1998, marking the inception of her hospitality career journey.
Her early years were shaped by her role as an Assistant Controller at Kyo-ya Co., Ltd., where she laid the foundation for her expertise in financial management within the hospitality sector. Over four years, her dedication and proficiency earned her recognition, leading to her promotion as Senior Director of Finance for Starwood Hotels and Resorts.
In 2014, Julie transitioned to Kyo-ya Management Company, a move that marked by embracing new challenges with enthusiasm and determination, she seamlessly integrated into her role, leveraging her extensive experience to drive financial success and operational excellence. Throughout her tenure, Julie's leadership and strategic vision have been instrumental in steering Kyo-ya Management Company towards sustained growth and prosperity. Her commitment to excellence, coupled with her deep understanding of financial intricacies and industry dynamics, has earned her the trust and respect of her peers and colleagues.
In 2022, Julie reached a significant milestone in her career as she was appointed Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. She is the company's first female C suite leader and the only female leader on its Executive Committee. In this role, she continues to exemplify excellence, guiding Kyo-ya Management Company towards continued success in an ever-evolving industry landscape. In her role, Julie is the lead strategic partner to the Marriott International Corporate, Area and property teams regarding all facets of the hotel operations: sales and overall revenue strategy, actively discuss overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all 6 Kyo-ya properties. She is responsible for all hotel's overall performance to budget, profit margins and flow through. Julie Nakayama's leadership and dedication to excellence continue to drive Kyo-ya Management Company's success, positioning the organization as a leader in the hospitality industry. Her transformative vision, coupled with her proven track record of success, makes her an invaluable asset to the organization and a source of inspiration for aspiring professionals in the field.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Julie is known for her passion for mentorship and advocacy, actively supporting initiatives aimed at empowering women in finance and leadership roles. Her commitment to making a positive impact extends beyond the boardroom, reflecting her values of integrity, innovation, and excellence. In 2022, she launched Ke Alo Mahina, Women's Leadership Group at the Kyo-ya Hotels and serves on its Advisory Board.
