Dr. Megan McCorriston

Seagull Schools

Dr. Megan McCorriston has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Seagull Schools since 2018. Seagull Schools is Hawaii’s premier provider of early education services. She holds a Masters and Doctorate in Education from the University of Oxford in England. Most of her career has been in education leadership in Hawaii however she enjoyed a brief stint in higher education at the University of Oxford and worked as a consultant to international NGOs in education in emergencies.

She is a published researcher in the field of comparative and international education. She is also an active member of the National Association of the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and Child Care Business Coalition in Hawaii. She serves as a proud member of the Rotary Club of West Honolulu. Dr. McCorriston has been a tireless advocate of education as a means for social justice for over 20 years.

Dr. Carlos Peñaloza
Chancellor
Leeward Community College and University of Hawaii-West Oahu

Dr. Carlos Peñaloza serves as the dual Chancellor for Leeward Community College and the University of Hawaii-West Oahu. A champion for innovation and equity, he has spearheaded key regional initiatives, including the expansion of the Waianae Moku Education Center and the opening of the Wahiawa Value-Added Product Development Center. Dr. Peñaloza is dedicated to building innovative educational pathways that bolster local economic development and the agricultural sector.

A biologist by training, he brings over 20 years of expertise in teaching and administration. Previously, he served as Provost at Saint Luke's College of Health Sciences and Vice Chancellor at Metropolitan Community College. A native of Venezuela and a proud CUNY alumnus, he holds an A.S., B.A., M.Phil, and Ph.D. in Biology.

Once we reach the business day before the event, refunds are no longer available due to final guest counts and event preparation. If you are unable to attend, tickets may be transferred to another attendee. Please contact us with the new attendee’s name and email prior to the event.
