The Chamber of Commerce Hawaii and Hawaii Energy are bringing together Chief Energy Officer of the Hawaii State Energy Office Scott Glenn, City & County of Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell, Kauai County Energy/Sustainability Coordinator Ben Sullivan, Maui County Mayor Michael Victorino and Hawaii County Deputy Director of Research & Development Riley Saito to discuss the contributing role clean energy will play in contributing to our state's COVID-19 economic recovery and resiliency plans.
Join us for this virtual panel discussion, moderated by Hawaii Energy Executive Director Brian Kealoha, to hear directly from our state's leaders on short-term and long-term plans, including tax savings, job creation, clean energy sustainability benefits and more, and participate in an interactive discussion on the intersection of clean energy and economic recovery.

Glenn has served as director of the Office of Environmental Quality Control (OEQC) since 2015, where he led the modernization of the state environmental review process by developing new administrative rules and updating best practices. In addition, Scott was the co-chair of the Sustainable Hawaii Initiative, and liaison to the U.S. Climate Alliance.
Mayor Kirk Caldwell
City and County of Honolulu
Kirk Caldwell was elected the 14th Mayor of the City and County of Honolulu and assumed office on January 2, 2013. He was reelected to a second term in November of 2016. Mayor Caldwell has prioritized investing in Honolulu's core infrastructure, with a focus on roads, sewers, bus and rail transportation, parks and homelessness. He added resiliency as yet another of his priorities, which coincides with the creation of the city's Office of Climate Change, Sustainability and Resilience.
Mayor Caldwell previously served as Managing Director and Acting Mayor of the City and County of Honolulu and was Majority Leader for the Hawaii State House of Representatives. Prior to entering public service, he was Managing Partner at the law firm of Ashford and Wriston.

Riley Saito
Deputy Director of the Department of Research and Development
County of Hawaii
Riley Saito serves as the Deputy Director of the Department of Research and Development.
Riley previously served as Corporate Controller, Vice President at Mauna Lani Resort Operations, Inc., Senior Manager of Hawaii Projects for SunPower Corporation, and Manager/Member of Succeed Hawaii, LLC.
Riley graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a Bachelor of Business Administration - BBA, Business Administration and Management, General - Travel Industry Management.

Executive Director

With over 25 years of clean energy experience, Brian is currently the executive director of Hawaii Energy. Prior to Hawaii Energy, Brian launched the Hawaii division of Chevron Energy Solutions, now Engie. Brian also spent many years developing and implementing energy programs at Pacific Gas & Electric, Avista Utilities and Maui Electric.
Brian holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in both economics and marketing, and a Master's of Business Administration from Gonzaga University and holds a certificate in negotiation from the University of Oxford.
