Brian Schatz is Hawaii's senior United States Senator. He serves on the Senate Appropriations Committee; the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee; the Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee; the Indian Affairs Committee; and the Select Committee on Ethics.
Schatz also chairs the Special Committee on the Climate Crisis and serves on the Senate Democratic Caucus's leadership team as Chief Deputy Whip.
Jane Sawyer

Jane A. Sawyer is the District Director of the Hawaii District office of the U.S. Small Business Administration, providing programs and services to small businesses in a territory includes the State of Hawaii as well as American Samoa, Guam and other affiliated Pacific Islands. Sawyer oversees all activities of the federal agency, including loans and lending relations, business training and counseling assistance, and federal contracting programs and certifications.
Sawyer joined SBA in 1993 as the Assistant District Director for Business Development to manage the public communications, marketing, consulting, mentoring, training and technical assistance programs such as the Small Business Development Center Networks, SCORE, Women?s Business Centers, State Trade and Export Promotion programs and other special initiatives to support entrepreneurial and business ventures. She has served in the capacity of District Director since 2009.
