2023 Chamber Week: State of Business presented by AMERIPEN and Flexible Packaging Association
Chamber of Commerce Hawaii’s Events unite the business community to enhance the state’s economic climate by fostering success for businesses and business leaders alike. Chamber Week - a week-long series of events and programming that coincides with the opening of the Hawaii State Legislature to connect members and the business community with legislators and engage them in the legislative process.

Dan Felton, Executive Director, AMERIPEN
A well-known leader in the government affairs arena for more than 20 years, Dan has worked within the bottled water, credit card, healthcare and information management industries. He is particularly passionate about environmental, sustainability and packaging issues and has lobbied extensively in those areas at the state and federal levels.
He leads the efforts of AMERIPEN – the American Institute for Packaging and the Environment – to develop and advocate positions for the U.S. packaging industry on issues related to packaging and the environment, using sound science and a philosophy of material neutrality.
Alison Keane, President & CEO, Flexible Packaging Association
Alison Keane is an environmental attorney with over 25 years’ experience in both the private and governmental sectors. She is currently the President and CEO of the Flexible Packaging Association (FPA), the association representing U.S. converters of film, foil, paper and other materials into packages for food, medical device and industrial products.
Prior to joining the FPA in 2016, she was with the American Coatings Association (ACA) for 16 years and served first as Counsel and then as Vice President for Government Affairs. She was also the Executive Director, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for the ACA’s product stewardship organization - PaintCare. Other employment experience includes the Environmental Protection Agency’s Headquarters office, the Maryland State Senate and private practice. Alison has her BA in Biology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and her JD from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. She is admitted to the practice of law in both Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Ashleigh de la Torre, Vice President, Public Policy, Amazon
Ashleigh de la Torre, Vice President of Public Policy at Amazon, has a policy career in D.C. that spans over two decades. In her current role, she leads Amazon's transportation and sustainability legislative and regulatory affairs teams, supporting Amazon's U.S. operations, logistics and delivery businesses; and the company's leading sustainability efforts.
Before joining Amazon in 2015, she led the transportation practice group for a D.C. based government affairs firm. Prior to that, she represented aircraft and train manufacturer Bombardier. She also worked in government affairs at the National Business Aviation Association and at Airports Council International - North America. She began her career in D.C. on Capitol Hill, serving on the staff of Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS). She holds degrees in political science and journalism from the University of Kansas.
