Join the Chamber as we celebrate our 170th anniversary and Annual Membership Luncheon & Virtual Summit - PUSHING FORWARD, Together presented by First Insurance Company of Hawaii on Friday, November 6, 2020 from 8:00 AM - 1:30 PM with special keynote speaker Peter Schwartz, Senior Vice President for Strategic Planning and Chief Futures (plural!) Officer, Salesforce. Guest speakers include former Mayor of Hawaii County Billy Kenoi with Kanoa Leahey returning as our emcee.
Just like the in-person Annual Membership Luncheon, this year's event will include virtual exhibitor booths, virtual speed peer-to-peer networking with business leaders, lunch watch parties, a dynamic program with panel discussions on the most pressing issues, election of the new slate of Chamber Board of Directors, and recognition of Board and Young Professionals member of the year.

11:15 AM: Activism in the Spirit of Collaboratism As small businesses are the lifeline of Hawaii?s economy, the statistics continue to be devastating to our community as they report 11 out of every 1,000 businesses are closing (highest in the nation), with 80 percent of independent local restaurants and 43 percent of breweries and distilleries reporting they will most likely not survive COVID-19. Tune into this panel to hear how these business leaders did not stand by while their businesses closed, but got involved with local government policymakers to share their challenging business stories and create policies to help the businesses keep their doors open and pivot towards recovery.

Peter Schwartz is an internationally renowned futurist and business strategist, specializing in scenario planning and working with corporations, governments, and institutions to create alternative perspectives of the future and develop robust strategies for a changing and uncertain world. As Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning for Salesforce, he manages the organization?s ongoing strategic conversation.
Prior to joining Salesforce, Peter was co-founder and chairman of Global Business Network. He is the author of several works. His first book, The Art of the Long View, is considered a seminal publication on scenario planning. Peter has also served as a script consultant on the films "The Minority Report," "Deep Impact," "Sneakers," and "War Games." He received a B.S. in aeronautical engineering and astronautics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York.
