DESCRIPTION:Friday\, April 22\, 2016\n\n7:45am-9:00am\n\nThe Pacific Club\, The Card Room\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin the Chamber's Young Professionals for an interactive discussion with Bill Coy\, Director of the Omidyar Fellows\, a program of the Hawaii Leadership Forum. \n\n\n\nBill is an experienced coach\, consultant\, and educator with particular skills in helping growing organizations to manage their human capital\, develop their leadership talent\, and integrate their changing cultures.\n\n\n\nOrganizational and leadership development have been a primary focus of Bill's work for the past 20 years. He has acted as a coach and consultant to over 250 executive leaders that have included departmental chairs at Stanford Medical School\, senior level executives from the World Bank\, Honda USA\, and major philanthropic Foundations- both nationally and internationally. He has over 25 years consulting experience in developing effective operational systems\, processes\, and human capital management. He has developed a specialized expertise in helping teams become more cohesive and effective.\n\n\n\nBill has developed and led leadership learning communities for both emerging and senior leaders from Fargo\, North Dakota to Honolulu\, Hawai'i. He was recognized as "Volunteer of the Year" in 2005 by the Northern California Human Resource Council for his work in service to promoting and improving the profession of human resource management. He has acted as an executive coach with the Noyce Leadership Institute and the Stanford Medical Leadership Academy.  He has taught at the University of San Francisco where he created the core graduate level course on Human Resource Management.\n\n\n\nPreviously\, Bill was a Partner of La Piana Consulting and Director of Human Resources for the Catholic Diocese of Oakland and for Yosemite National Institutes\, an environmental education organization. He also directed training and development for George Lucas' Industrial Light and Magic (ILM)\, a film special effects company\, and was responsible for organizational and management development at both ILM and Skywalker Sound. Bill is the only consultant known to have facilitated meetings at both the Vatican and Skywalker Ranch!\n\n \n\nOriginally trained as a cultural anthropologist\, Bill holds graduate degrees in systematic theology and clinical counseling.
