The bill takes effect January 1\, 2022 and bans the sale or use of disposable plastic and polystyrene such as to-go containers\, plates and bowls\, cups (hot and cold)\, straws\, stirrers\, utensils.\n\nCity and County of Honolulu   C&C Honolulu enacted Bill 40 with two parts on plastic foodware ban. She worked with the City and County of Honolulu Recycling Office for five years before moving to Maui in 2013. She currently serves as the County of Maui Environmental Protection & Sustainability Division Manager. The EP&S Division oversees Zero Waste\, Landfill Diversion\, Abandoned Vehicles & Metals Recycling\, and Environmental Protection programs\, and is responsible for administering the Plastic Disposable Foodware Ordinance No. 5084.\n\n\n\nHenry Gabriel\n\nEngineer\, Department of Environmental Services\n\n\n\nHenry Gabriel is the Recycling Program Branch Chief for the City and County of Honolulu.  He's responsible for managing the City's recycling programs and the enforcement of ordinances relating to businesses e.g. food waste\, glass\, office paper\, plastic bags and disposable food ware.   His passion is garbage.  Even at home\, he lives his life as a solid waste manager.  He's well verse in green waste and food waste composting.  Reduce\, reuse\, recycling\, refuse\, recovery and repair are not just words.  They are words of encouragement to generate less waste. \n\n \n\nHenry has a degree in Civil Engineering.  In California\, he's worked at recycling and composting facility.  On O'ahu\, he's worked as a recycling specialist and a wastewater engineer.  Everything and anything to do with waste\, Henry is that guy.\n\n\n\nAdrian Hong\n\nPresident\, Island Plastic Bags\, Inc.\n\n\n\nAdrian Hong is president of Island Plastic Bags\, Inc.\, a local\, family-owned company that manufactures high density and low density polyethylene bags in a variety of dimensions and gauges.
