Raised in Pittsburgh\, Pennsylvania\, Governor Green received his degree in both biology and anthropology from Swarthmore College and his M.D. from Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center at Pennsylvania State University. After graduating medical school he completed his residency in Family Practice. He was then awarded a National Health Service Corps scholarship and chose a position to practice medicine in the underserved area of K ' on the Big Island of Hawai'i. \n\nThroughout his legislative career\, Governor Green practiced emergency room medicine in the rural areas of the Big Island. He has twice been named Physician of the Year by the Hawai'i Medical Association\, most recently in 2022 for his leadership and service during the COVID-19 pandemic. \n\nGovernor Green is married to Jaime Kanani Green and they have two children\, Maia and Sam. \nDavid Tumilowicz is senior director of marketing and community health for Kaiser Permanente. \; Prior to his current role\, Tumilowicz served in a variety of positions including director of account management\, director of sales operations and strategic market planning\, and director of business engagement.

\nTumilowicz was formerly publisher of Hawaii Business and Hawaii magazines\, and as vice-president at PacificBasin Communications\, Hawaii&rsquo\;s largest magazine publishing house. \; During his time at Hawaii Business\, Tumilowicz founded Hawaii&rsquo\;s largest conference for businesswomen and community leaders\, the Wahine Forum.

\nTumilowicz is invested serving the Hawaii community. \; He currently serves as a board member on the Oahu Economic Development Board\, Kapolei Chamber of Commerce\, and Domestic Violence Action Center. \; He is an alumnus of the Pacific Century Fellows leadership program and the Kaiser Permanente Executive Leadership Program at Harvard Business School.

\nTumilowicz holds his BA in Sociology from the Pennsylvania State University and a MA in Sociology from Rutgers University in New Jersey.
