Join the Young Professionals in volunteering for the Foodbank!
Volunteers of the Backpack Program will aid the needs of hungry children by preparing and packing nutritious and easy-to-prepare food for children to take home on weekends and school vacations when other resources are not available.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Opening pallets of inventory
- Making boxes to place packed zip lock bags in
- Zip lock bags will be opened and passed down the table in an assembly line fashion till all items in the bag are closed and placed into a box
- Be able to stand for long durations of time and perform repetitive movement and lifting
- Reach minimum age of 16 years old or must be accompanied by an adult
- Covered shoes, comfortable clothing, and wear sun protection
Foodbank volunteers will be packing for 625 students to prepare 3124 Zip lock bags worth of 5 weeks of food.
